Besor Station

The Besor R&D is the first regional R&D established in Israel. It is focused on the western and northern Negev region in the area of the regional councils: Eshkol, Hof Aza, Merhavim and Gaza.
The R&D deals both with solutions to current problems that characterize agriculture in the region and with long-term development in the fields of advanced production technologies and the introduction of new products.
About 120 farmers receive services from the R&D, 700 researches have been conducted over the course of 40 years, and a total of 420,000 are cultivated in the area.
The crops on research include:
sweet potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, pumpkins, flowers, field crops and various fruit trees.
