The Research and Development station in the Jordan Valley is one of the research centers operating throughout the country within the national activity of applied regional agricultural research and development.
In these areas, agriculture is the main source of livelihood for the residents, and research and development activity are the basis for proper, creative, and profitable agriculture. About 30% of the families in the Jordan Valley are directly involved in agriculture, while another 30% make a living from auxiliary services for farmers – in packing houses, cold stores, transport companies, office services, etc.
The value of the agricultural production of the Jordan Valley is estimated at NIS 500,000,000. The total cultivated area is about 32,000 dunams.
