International Holocaust Remembrance Day

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed each year on January 27 – the date the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was liberated. This date was designated by UN General Assembly to serve as an annual day of awareness against antisemitism and hate. The theme for this year’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day is “Recognizing the Extraordinary Courage of Victims and Survivors of the Holocaust”.
January 27 of 2024 will mark almost 4 months since the bloody events of October 7, which saw the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. On this day, we acknowledge, too, the courage of October 7 victims and survivors who choose life each day anew, even as they face ongoing hardship.
On this day and every day, we at KKL-JNF reaffirm our support for Holocaust survivors and survivors of October 7, and act to ensure that they will never be alone.
