But in Israel, it also brings us back to its agricultural roots as Chag HaBikkurim, the Festival of First Fruits.\nLong ago, farmers would travel to Jerusalem with the first fruits of their harvest, expressing gratitude for the land and its abundance. A celebration of connection\u2014between people, land, and life itself.\nThis year, Shavuot (May 22) coincides with the International Day for Biological Diversity.\nA timely reminder that the abundance we celebrate depends on something deeper: the health and diversity of the natural world around us.\nForests, pollinators, native plants, wetlands, and healthy soil all work together to sustain life and agriculture.
