Name: A Place of Resilience and Growth - The New Playground at Kibbutz Or HaNer
Description: Kibbutz Or HaNer, located in the western Negev just north of Sderot and near the Gaza Strip, was forever changed on October 7, 2023. On that day, members of the kibbutz played a crucial role in a major battle when its Rapid Response Unit joined forces with the nearby Kibbutz Erez to repel dozens of Hamas terrorists. Fighting side by side, they prevented a massacre and blocked further infiltration. This battle became one of the central stories of heroism from that day, and tragically, one member of Kibbutz Or HaNer was killed in action.
Name: A Park in Southern Israel That Says: We’re Here to Stay - A New Children's Park for Nir Am
Description: Kibbutz Nir Am sits in the northwestern Negev, just west of Sderot, close enough to the Gaza Strip to have experienced the horrors of the October 7 terror attack and its aftermath, and they are now looking to rebuild every single day.
Name: A Field That Means More Than Just the Game: Multi-Purpose Sports Field at Kibbutz Bror Hayil
Description: Near the Gaza border, Kibbutz Bror Hayil has shown extraordinary resilience since October 7. After evacuation, trauma, and disruption, the community returned, rebuilt, and chose to move forward. The next step in this recovery is future-focused: the establishment of a first-of-its-kind multi-purpose sports field.

Description: Since the horrific events of October 7th and the war that followed, communities across Israel’s south, including the residents of Mabu’im in the Merhavim Regional Council, have been facing daily challenges of resilience, security, and recovery.
