The Kinneret Innovation Center

Empowering Employment and Fueling Hi-Tech Advancement in Northern Israel

The synergy between KKL-JNF, Kinneret Academic College and Tsemah Regional industries has produced a new home for groundbreaking projects in the fields of water, agriculture, and biotechnology, a significant boost to Israel’s tech scene in the north.

The Kinneret Innovation Center (KIC) is a pioneering hub that is set to revolutionize the employment landscape and accelerate the growth of the hi-tech sector in Northern Israel, generating a transformative wave of progress and opportunity in the periphery.

The Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael – Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) partnered with the Kinneret Academic College and the Tsemah Regional industries, a conglomerate of 31 local agricultural industries, to create the KIC, which essence is to encourage technological entrepreneurship in the worlds of climate and water tech, and to attract human capital to the northern periphery and increase the supply of knowledge-intensive and high-paying jobs in the area.

Igniting Economic Growth in the North

Nestled amid the breathtaking beauty of the Kinneret region, the KIC, and has all the ingredients to become the driving force behind unprecedented economic growth and technological advancement in the region.

The KIC is attracting global companies, fostering entrepreneurship, and providing a nurturing environment for startups, creating a plethora of new hi-tech jobs across a wide range of industries. From software development to biotechnology, from renewable energy to artificial intelligence, the potential is immense. The Center has already created over 300 jobs.

A Catalyst for Collaboration

The KIC serves as a catalyst for collaboration, bridging the gap between academia, industry, and government. By establishing strong partnerships with leading universities and research institutions, it will enable the transfer of knowledge, expertise, and research breakthroughs into commercial applications.

This synergy will also create a cycle of talent retention, where highly skilled individuals will be drawn to the region, further strengthening the local workforce.

Currently, less than 5% of graduates of the Kinneret Academic College, located next door, stay to work in the area, and this is exactly the equation KIC is seeking to change. Investing in the KIC means investing in the future of Northern Israel. As it attracts an influx of high-growth companies and startups, it will generate a ripple effect throughout the local economy. Businesses in various sectors will thrive, benefiting from increased demand for goods and services, while local communities will experience an upsurge in infrastructure development, retail opportunities, and improved quality of life.

Regular workshops, seminars, and networking events are bringing together visionaries and industry experts, creating a fertile ground for ideation and the formation of strategic partnerships. This collaborative environment will serve as a beacon for talent and investment from around the globe.

Change is Already in the Air

To this end, it has established KIC-DEV, a software development division with the aim of enabling residents of the region who are graduates of the engineering professions to stay in the area and work in their field.

The KIC-Dev program generates business and facilitates a scholarship-based experience and training mechanism for software engineering students.

This project created jobs for engineers out of nowhere in a place where there were no technological jobs before the establishment of the Kinneret Innovation Center.

Ultimately, The KIC will act as an innovative national growth engine in the fields of agriculture, water, and climate, creating growth, a future, and opportunities in northern Israel by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

The KIC is leveraging Israeli strengths and knowledge to provide innovative solutions to global problems considering climate change and the need for food and water security in the world.

KKL-JNF invites you to join this transformative journey and be a part of Israel’s next generation of innovation and growth. Join the north’s symbol of innovation, collaboration, and limitless possibilities.
