Restore and Renew

Rehabilitation of the Magen Forest in the Western Negev

Keren Kayamet Le Israel – Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) is working to revitalize the forests in southern Israel heavily harmed by the Oct. 7th terror attacks, including the Magen Forest. Join us in this imperative endeavor!

On October 7th, the Magen Forest in southern Israel, near the Gaza Strip, endured devastating damage from the Hamas terror attacks and the subsequent war.

These forests, a symbol of resilience and life in an often-harsh landscape, now stand scarred and depleted. Yet, from the ashes of destruction, KKL-JNF can breathe new life into these woods.

KKL-JNF has launched a project to clear the destruction strife from this area, and we call upon you to join us in the critical mission of rehabilitating this cherished forest.

Objective 1: Renewal of Damaged Forest Areas

The primary goal of our project is to renew the forest areas that suffered the brunt of the attacks. The beauty of these forests was shattered, but with your support, we can restore their splendor.

By planting new trees and nurturing the existing flora, we aim to cover the visible scars of war and revitalize the natural beauty that has always been a source of pride and joy for the local communities.

Objective 2: Resumption of Forestry Operations

Forestry operations are vital for the maintenance and development of healthy, thriving forests. These activities were severely disrupted due to the war, putting the ecological balance at risk. Now KKL-JNF can resume these essential operations, ensuring the sustainable management of forest resources.

Objective 3: Restoring a Green Belt for the Residents

The project includes restoring the forest which served as a “green belt” around the kibbutzim and nearby communities. This green belt serves multiple purposes: it will act as a buffer zone, enhance the aesthetic appeal of the region, and provide a serene environment for the residents.

This initiative will also promote mental well-being by offering a natural space for relaxation and recreation, which is crucial for communities that have faced immense trauma and loss.

Your support in this endeavor is not just about planting trees and clearing debris; it is about planting hope and resilience. It is about giving the residents of southern Israel a tangible sign of renewal and strength. Every tree planted, every sapling nurtured, represents a step towards healing and a brighter, greener future.

By contributing to the rehabilitation of these forests, you are making a powerful statement: that even in the face of adversity and terrorism, we can come together to restore and rebuild.

KKL-JNF invites you to join us in this vital mission. Together, we can turn the tide of destruction and bring life back to the Magen Forest in southern Israel. Let’s renew, resume, and restore our precious forest, creating a lasting legacy of hope and renewal for Israel’s future generations.
