Since 2018, terror organizations have launched thousands of incendiary kites and balloons into the western Negev, setting forests, agricultural fields, and nature reserves ablaze. Kissufim Forest has suffered extensive ecological damage that will take years to restore and rehabilitate fully.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-19ea1e6 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"19ea1e6\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-7886a19\" data-id=\"7886a19\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e302eb0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e302eb0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Kissufim Forest acts as a vital green belt, reducing air temperature, preventing soil erosion, and enhancing land fertility in the region. It also provides residents and visitors with recreation sites, cycling, and walking trails, and is home to local wildlife that lost their natural habitat in the fires.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In addition to these benefits, trees are efficient in capturing carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas harming our planet, and thus make a significant contribution to combating global warming and climate change. By planting trees and expanding forests, KKL-JNF is strengthening Israel&#8217;s resilience to climate and environmental changes.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In 2023, a new section of the forest was planted between Kibbutz Kissufim and Kibbutz Re&#8217;im, symbolizing hope and renewal. Plantings included eucalyptus and other broad-leafed trees in a 13-acre section of Kissufim Forest located near the Tel Gama archaeological site. The project also involved restoring the recreation site and the surrounding area, which had been severely damaged by terror attacks.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>On October 7th, 2023, the surrounding areas, including Kibbutz Kissufim and Kibbutz Re&#8217;im, were targeted by horrific terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas. Many people were tragically murdered or kidnapped, underscoring the urgent need for community support and healing.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>By supporting KKL-JNF\u2019s efforts to plant trees and rehabilitate the Tel Gama area of Kissufim Forest, you will contribute to the revival of this region.
