KKL-JNF is celebrating Tu Bishvat in the forests and parks with a variety of activities for the entire family
On this Tu Bishvat, KKL-JNF will plant a new forest in memory of the fallen soldiers and those murdered since October 7th. On a special planting day, bereaved families will come to plant trees in memory of their loved ones. Next to each tree will be a memorial plaque with the picture of the fallen and a scannable barcode that will enable every visitor to listen to a song chosen by the family in memory of their loved one.

Update: Based on the current security assessment and directives from the security authorities, the tree-planting event for the ‘Swords of Iron Forest,’ in which hundreds of bereaved families were expected to participate, has been postponed until further notice.
A planting ceremony to celebrate the returning home and rebuilding of the North in the presence of the KKL-JNF Chairwoman, the Commander of the IDF Northern Command, and other municipality heads.

KKL-JNF’s green truck will crisscross Israel and spread joy to the public. The truck will visit hospitals, retirement homes, military bases, hostels, educational institutions, city centers, communal farms and many other locations and will celebrate Tu Bishvat with the participants in a festive atmosphere with a musical stage, holiday songs and the finest songs of the Land of Israel.
In the Program: Group singing, a KKL-JNF quiz, a meeting with costumed characters and the handing out of gifts to participants.

In honor of the New Year of the Trees, we invite you to a fascinating meeting in the KKL-JNF Seeds Department. We will hear about KKL-JNF’s “Alpinists” Unit, whose members climb tall trees to collect the best seeds in the forest. We will see how seeds are treated and guarded until it is time to send them to our tree nurseries.
