Reviving the Land, Restoring Hope

Celebrating the first Sukkot after October 7 is a challenge, but we can look towards the Zionist pioneers for inspiration. At this time 78 years ago, KKL-JNF helped them establish 11 agricultural communities in the Negev virtually overnight. The hostile desert and political climate did not hold them back.

Today, too, this region faces unprecedented challenges. Most of its farmers remain displaced, and the produce remains unharvested due to the danger. Nevertheless, we at KKL-JNF are forging ahead with our latest project: the preparation of 120 hectares of new agricultural land in the Halutziot area of the Eshkol Regional Council.

There may be no harvest to celebrate this Sukkot, but together, we can ensure that there’ll be one next year, gathered by farmers who will have safely returned to their old and new lands.
